About Us

Nonprofit Fundraising Masters builds the fundraising capacity of the social sector by producing live educational programs that feature on-stage interviews with renowned industry experts who collectively have raised billions, and by facilitating dialogue among our attendees. Our programs connect experienced and emerging nonprofit leaders to the tools and service providers needed to maximize fundraising results.

The series is produced by three long-time nonprofit veterans and professional fundraisers:

Darian Rodriguez Heyman

Darian Rodriguez Heyman is an accomplished fundraiser, social entrepreneur, and best-selling author. His work “helping people help” started during his five-year tenure as Executive Director of Craigslist Foundation, after which he edited the best-selling book, Nonprofit Management 101 (Wiley & Sons). More recently, he authored the best-selling Nonprofit Fundraising 101, the first truly comprehensive yet practical guide to all aspects of fundraising for your cause, and stepped into the Executive Director role at Numi Foundation, where he oversees their clean water and curriculum development programs. Heyman also co-founded the only global conference series dedicated to social media for social good, Social Media for Nonprofits, as well as Sparrow: Mobile for All. Heyman is an in-demand fundraising consultant and board retreat facilitator, and a frequent keynote speaker at social impact events around the globe.

Adam Straus

Adam Straus is the Co-Founder and Executive Producer at Straus Events and a 20-year veteran of event planning and production. Straus has a strong record of success leading diverse community events for a range of nonprofit clients and is also the executive producer of San Francisco Small Business Week. He is a dedicated, passionate, creative professional with a technical background in theater and experience in all aspects of event planning, fundraising, and production. Straus is also deeply involved in the community and volunteers with a variety of organizations throughout the Bay Area.

Natalia Straus

Natalia Straus is a fundraising consultant based in the SF Bay Area. With a focus on individual, major and legacy giving, Natalia has developed a fundraising career spanning 13 years and both coasts including work with national charitable health and conservation organizations, religious organizations, schools and the performing and visual arts. She is currently working as a Partner with Greg Lassonde, Legacy Program Specialists, Senior Fundraising and Events Consultant with Straus Events and solely as Principal of Straus Consulting, specializing in transitional projects, capital campaign, major and legacy giving programs. Natalia graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. in Interpersonal Communication.
